Health & Safety Workover Supervisor

About the Role

Provide day-to-day HSE leadership across workover, well intervention, and P&A operations. Maintain a visible field presence to reinforce safe work practices and Crescent HSE expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Support critical operations including:
    • Workover rig operations
    • Wireline
    • Coiled tubing
    • Pressure control activities
    • Heavy lifts
    • Well control operations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Risk Management
    • Lead Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), pre-job planning, and risk assessments.
    • Verify appropriate controls are implemented prior to high-risk work.
    • Conduct field inspections, audits, and behavioral observations.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce operational risk and improve HSE performance.
  • Incident Management
    • Serve as the primary HSE contact for field incidents.
    • Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
    • Develop, track, and verify corrective actions through completion.
    • Communicate lessons learned across operations.
  • Contractor Management
    • Monitor contractor HSE performance.
    • Verify contractor compliance with Crescent onboarding requirements and HSE standards.
    • Partner with contractor leadership to address performance gaps.
  • Training & Culture
    • Deliver field safety meetings and HSE training.
    • Coach supervisors and field personnel on hazard recognition and safe work practices.
    • Promote proactive reporting of hazards, near misses, and safety observations.
  • Emergency Response
    • Support emergency preparedness activities.
    • Participate in emergency response drills including:
      • Well control
      • Spill response
      • Medical emergencies
    • Serve as the field HSE representative during incident response activities.
  • Leadership Responsibilities
    • Supervise Field HSE Representatives assigned to workover operations.
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
    • Ensure consistency in HSE expectations and field execution across assigned personnel.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Seven (7) or more years of progressive HSE experience in upstream oil and gas.
    • Minimum of three years supporting workover, well intervention, or drilling operations.
    • Previous experience supervising or leading field HSE personnel preferred.
    • Experience supporting contractor management and multi-site operations.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
    • Equivalent combination of education and applicable field experience will be considered.
  • Technical Competencies
    • Strong understanding of workover rig operations.
    • Knowledge of wireline and coiled tubing operations.
    • Understanding of pressure control equipment and well intervention hazards.
    • Expertise in hazard identification and risk assessment.
    • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state regulations (Texas Railroad Commission, New Mexico OCD, etc., as applicable).
    • Experience conducting incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies.
    • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to manage multiple field locations and competing priorities.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HSE reporting systems.
