Health and Safety Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in the development, coordination of quality procedures, and improvement of safety programs
• Participates in the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Develops and executes safety orientation training
• Affords support to base operations with continuous improvement through the application of quality and safety management principles
• Reviews comprehensive corrective action plans and performs follow-up as necessary
• Mitigates risk and develops corrective action plans
• Updates and modifies audit checklists, as required
• Supports the development and implementation of quality and safety audit training
• Ensures all worker certifications are current
• Ensures all HS&E reporting from each base is up to date
• Ensures all corrective actions put in place by local station managers are implemented
• Coordinates and oversees aircraft turnaround activities
• Ensures processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits while adhering to safety requirements
• Maintains Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to output and safety, providing suitable corrective and/or preventative actions where necessary
• Ensures staff have access to the Quality Management System information in enabling them to comply with company policies, processes, and procedures
• Ensures employees are adequately trained in Quality Assurance to understand, implement, and maintain all quality objectives as outlined within our Quality Management System
• Cooperates fully with Inspectors to achieve quality inspection commitments

Qualifications

• Catering/Airline operational experience preferred
• CAN/CRSP designation or equivalent
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety in the workplace, including safety requirements and reporting methods as per Provincial and Federal Labour Standards
• Demonstrated experience in various instruction methods
• Proficient in PC based applications; Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
