Summary

Support company goals and objectives related to safety, emergency response, Industrial Hygiene, regulatory compliance, safety auditing, contractor safety, and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expertise in the oversight of spill response and Incident commander structure. Respond to emergencies and training events throughout the region.
  • Manage Emergency response, security, and operational plans for each terminal in the region.
  • Maintain current knowledge of existing and proposed environmental regulations of the local, state, and federal jurisdictions, including but not limited to the Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substance Control Act, and Federal Oil Pollution Act.
  • Respond to emergency callouts and perform assigned incident management team duties.
  • Aid field operations in agency inspections and internal audits.
  • Coordinate and conduct HES training and help implement HES-Management System.
  • Implement new HES regulations and ensure field HES compliance.
  • Liaison between field/corporate/local agencies.
  • Follow SUNOCO LP employee policy and procedures, especially communication policy and drug testing policy.
  • Be a team player and demonstrate respect towards teammates.
  • Participate in Initial 40-hr Hazwoper training and annual 8-hr refresher training.

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in Environmental Science; Physical Science; Chemical or Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the environmental multimedia, environment. Overall understanding of terminal, pipeline, and refinery operations and applicable regulations.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous & Non Hazardous Waste, RCRA Waste, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, Coast Guard Emergency Response, and the Incident Command System.

Working Conditions

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

Pay

This role has a current pay range of $125,000 – $150,000. The listed pay range represents the company’s good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment.
