About the role

We are seeking a Provider Relations Representative to support healthcare providers in understanding and complying with Medicaid program requirements. This role combines independent field work with remote reporting and collaboration, offering the opportunity to build strong provider relationships while ensuring compliance with program policies and standards. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently while managing a travel-based territory. Daily travel within the assigned Austin-area territory is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary field representative for a designated provider territory.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled face-to-face visits with healthcare providers to ensure compliance with Medicaid policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Travel daily within the assigned territory, including trips up to three hours each way from home.
  • Utilize reports, tracking tools, and internal systems to manage workload and monitor territory performance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid policies, provider resources, and program requirements.
  • Complete accurate reporting and documentation following provider visits.
  • Monitor individual performance metrics and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
  • Participate in remote team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative workgroups.
  • Support organizational goals by meeting contractual and program obligations while maintaining a professional presence within the provider community.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Medicaid programs, healthcare providers, or healthcare support services.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Medicaid policies, provider resources, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in provider-facing, healthcare operations, or healthcare customer support roles.
  • Experience managing a geographic territory and travel-based schedule.
  • Ability to analyze reports and make informed decisions to manage workload effectively.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and independent decision-making skills.
