About the role

The position involves engagement in complex litigation in both state and federal court and an opportunity for professional development. Candidates must be self-starters who are able to manage their own litigation, formulate and implement a discovery plan including taking and defending depositions, evaluate potential insurance liability exposures, prepare case assessments and evaluations, and balance their time between several matters while producing consistently good work product.

Responsibilities

  • Defending life, health, disability, and payor-provider litigation
  • Defending state statutory claims
  • Defending ERISA litigation
  • Defending insurance bad faith
  • Engage in complex litigation in both state and federal court
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Evaluate potential insurance liability exposures
  • Prepare case assessments and evaluations
  • Formulate and implement a discovery plan including taking and defending depositions

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in litigating health insurance issues
  • A valid license to practice law in any state
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Proven skills in writing, research, and litigation experience

Pay

The pay range for this role is: $130,000-$165,000. Actual compensation is tailored to each individual and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, practice area, business generation, work arrangement, and geographic market.
