Health Facilities Surveyor

About the role

The Health Facilities Surveyor surveys patient activities, dietary, infection control, resident rights, and physical environment to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, requiring travel and use of a state vehicle with a daily per diem.

Responsibilities

• Survey patient activities, dietary, infection control, resident rights, and physical environment in licensed health care facilities.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations protecting health and safety.
• Conduct inspections and complete the survey process, including accessing all occupied areas of a facility.
• Travel to facilities, use a state vehicle, and receive a daily per diem.
• Complete required online CMS training and precepted surveys in licensed health care facilities.
• Attend in‑office days at the main office locations in Rapid City, Pierre, Mitchell, and Sioux Falls.
• Work up to three days per week remotely after successful completion of the six‑month probationary period.
