Health Educator
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Health Promotion Specialist to join our team at the Langley Air Force Base. In this role, you will directly support efforts in primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention through the development and execution of health promotion programs. Your work will involve collaborating with various teams, including marketing and clinical staff, to enhance community health and wellness.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including collaborating with teams to enhance community health and wellness, developing and executing health promotion programs, and utilizing various computer systems and software.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Community Health, Public Health or a human services related field from an accredited college or university
- One year of specialized experience in health care and administration services
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with ASIMS, AFCHIPS, and electronic medical record programs such as Military Health System (MHS) GENSI
- General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical information systems and automated analytical tools and software
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative analyses techniques using various military computer systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Outlook (e-mail), and Internet familiarity
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills both orally and in writing, the ability to handle work fluctuations and escalate non-routine issues, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing and completing assignments within established deadlines.
