About the Role
Under the direction of the Health Center Manager, the Health Center Supervisor directs, supervises, and coordinates staff and day-to-day operations for the assigned center to provide outstanding customer service, quality, and cost-effective care. This role manages the daily operations of both the Front Office and Back Office areas, responding to issues such as scheduling errors, patient flow bottlenecks, patient concerns, and employee relations. Decisions and operations are conducted based on UHC policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Health Center Manager and clinic management team to ensure staff adherence to customer service standards and quality of work.
- Proactively manage provider appointment schedules to ensure correct application of provider templates and appropriate scheduling of appointments.
- Maintain patient flow in the clinic to support agency productivity standards and goals.
- Monitor and manage patient flow in real time to ensure timely check-in and registration.
- Assist the Health Center Manager in monitoring and evaluating staff performance, recommending promotions, and addressing disciplinary actions.
- Provide ongoing feedback on staff performance and assist with completing performance evaluations.
- Offer coaching, training, counseling, and staff development in collaboration with the Health Center Manager.
- Participate in the interview and selection process for new Front Office and Back Office personnel.
- Plan and evaluate working assignments to ensure adequate coverage for quality care.
- Forward notifications of site audits/visits (e.g., OSHA, Blue Cross) to the Health Center Manager for coordination.
- Maintain direct communication with the Health Center Manager, providing updates on operational issues and process improvement suggestions.
- Participate in process improvement and data collection under the direction of the QA Coordinator.
- Ensure timely resolution of data entry corrections and completion.
- Monitor accuracy of cash/copay collections, payment entry, and daily site deposits.
- Provide coverage in health center positions as necessary.
- Interface with other departments to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Multitask and manage assigned projects as directed by the Health Center Manager.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Health Center Manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be applied.
- Minimum of 1 year of management or supervisory experience preferred.
Skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Able to quickly build and maintain rapport with patients and providers of differing backgrounds; team player.

Pay
The pay range for this exempt position starts at $73,696.94 a year. Salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
