About the Role
Under the direction of the Health Center Manager, the Health Center Supervisor directs, supervises, and coordinates staff and day-to-day operations for the assigned center to provide outstanding customer service, quality, and cost-effective care. This role manages the daily operations of both the Front Office and Back Office areas of the health center.
Responsibilities include responding to issues such as scheduling errors, patient flow bottlenecks, patient concerns, and employee relations, and escalating information to the Health Center Manager as needed. Decisions and operations are conducted based on UHC policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Health Center Manager and clinic management team to ensure staff adherence to customer service standards and quality of work.
- Proactively manages provider appointment schedules to ensure templates are correctly applied and appointments are scheduled appropriately.
- Maintains patient flow in the clinic to support agency productivity standards and goals.
- Manages patient flow in real-time to ensure timely check-in and registration.
- Monitors and evaluates staff performance, recommends promotions, and assists with disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Health Center Manager.
- Provides ongoing feedback on staff performance and assists with completing performance evaluations.
- Offers coaching, training, counseling, and staff development in association with the Health Center Manager.
- Participates in the interview process and selection of new personnel for Front Office and Back Office positions.
- Plans and evaluates working assignments to ensure adequate coverage for quality care.
- Forwards notifications of site audits/visits (e.g., OSHA, Blue Cross) to the Health Center Manager for coordination.
- Maintains direct communication with the Health Center Manager, providing updates on operational issues, process improvement suggestions, and other concerns.
- Participates in process improvement and data collection under the direction of the QA Coordinator.
- Ensures timely resolution of data entry corrections and completion.
- Monitors accuracy of cash/copay collections, payment entry, and daily site deposits.
- Provides coverage in health center positions as necessary.
- Interfaces with other departments to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Able to multi-task and manage assigned projects as directed by the Health Center Manager.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Health Center Manager.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be applied.
- Minimum of 1 year of management or supervisory experience preferred.
Skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Pay
The pay range for this exempt position starts at $73,696.94 a year. Salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
