About the role

Under the direction of the Health Center Manager, the Health Center Supervisor directs, supervises, and coordinates staff and day-to-day operations for the assigned center to provide outstanding customer service, quality, and cost-effective care. The role manages the daily operations of both the Front Office and Back Office areas of the health center.

Responsibilities include responding to issues such as scheduling errors, patient flow bottlenecks, patient concerns, and employee relations, and escalating information to the Health Center Manager as needed. Decisions and operations are conducted based on UHC policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Health Center Manager and clinic management team to ensure staff adherence to customer service standards and quality of work.
• Proactively manage provider appointment schedules to ensure templates are correctly applied and appointments are scheduled appropriately.
• Maintain patient flow in the clinic to support agency productivity standards and goals.
• Manage patient flow in real time to ensure timely check-in and registration.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance, recommend promotions, and assist with disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Health Center Manager.
• Provide ongoing feedback on staff performance and assist with completing performance evaluations.
• Provide coaching, training, counseling, and staff development in association with the Health Center Manager.
• Participate in the interview process and selection of new personnel for Front Office and Back Office positions.
• Plan and evaluate working assignments to ensure adequate coverage for quality care.
• Forward notifications of site audits/visits (e.g., OSHA, Blue Cross) to the Health Center Manager for coordination.
• Maintain direct communication with the Health Center Manager, providing updates on operational issues, process improvement suggestions, and other concerns.
• Participate in process improvement and data collection under the direction of the QA Coordinator.
• Ensure data entry corrections and completion are resolved in a timely manner.
• Monitor accuracy of cash/copay collections, payment entry, and daily site deposits.
• Provide coverage in health center positions as necessary.
• Interface with other departments to ensure operational effectiveness.
• Multitask and manage assigned projects as directed by the Health Center Manager.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Health Center Manager.

Requirements

Education and License/Certification

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be applied.

Prior Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of management or supervisory experience preferred.

Skills

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Pay

The pay range for this exempt position starts at $73,696.94 a year. Salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
