Principle Duties
- Oversee and actively participate in recruitment strategies for health center.
- Onboard, educate, develop and counsel key staff personnel.
- Create and maintain supportive and engaged team culture.
- Responsible for timely and systematic communications with staff, residents and families via written, in-person and technological communication resources.
- Achieve high resident and family satisfaction based on facility goals and industry benchmarks.

- Serve as facilitator and leader in key operational initiatives.
- Strategic and critical thinking skills to adapt to continuously changing healthcare and workforce environment.
- Work alongside and support the interdisciplinary team, residents and residents’ responsible party to coordinate care to meet resident needs.
- Maintain abreast of changing regulations specific to facility licensure - Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) and state and federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
- Serve as facility HIPAA and Compliance Officer and lead periodic Committee meetings with leadership team to review internal systems, policy compliance and audits.
- Lead the health center’s Quality Improvement Committee which meets (at minimum) quarterly.
- Promote and maintain a working relationship with the Community health delivery system.
- Conduct routine health center rounds to inspect health center preventive, general maintenance and safety.
- Actively collaborate with community leadership on disaster preparedness and ongoing education and drills.
- Monitor clinical quality indicators and Medicare Star Ratings.
- Effectively prepare for and educate staff on survey readiness for DSS, CDPH and Medicare surveys.
- Effectively utilize and monitor EMR for clinical documentation standards and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and adhere to annual operating budget, monitor expenditures to provide specified services within budget.
- Implement and audit financial and operational policies as required by auditors, government agencies or Ownership.
- Consistently review accounts receivable to minimize delayed payment and write-offs.
- Review and negotiate prudent contracts for health center in compliance with regulations and STAR Core Values.
- Create and execute marketing strategic plan.
- Review routinely for compliance to achieve health center targeted occupancy.
- Collaborate with local referral sources and healthcare systems to establish strong support and professional relationships.
- Report timely key financial changes, variances and health center capital needs.
- Represent the health center in a professional manner consistent with the philosophy of the organization.
Qualifications
- The technical knowledge required is best obtained through a BS or MS degree in business, health care, hotel/restaurant management, or closely related area.
- A minimum of two to three years of management experience in health care or life care community environment is required.
- An active Nursing Home Administrator license in California - THIS IS A REQUIREMENT.
- RCFE License required or ability to get licensed within 6 months.
- Some background in financial management, including budget preparation, cash flow management, and analysis of financial reports.
- A thorough understanding of federal and state laws related to the operation of the Community.
- Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of publics, including residents, Owners, community groups, government agencies, etc.
Compensation
Compensation for this role is base salary of approximately $185,000 -190,000 annually plus a 50% bonus potential. Full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, PTO, Flex holidays and more!
