Health Care Tech II - PICU - Cherry Hospital
About the role
The Health Care Technician II serves as a role model and mentor to other HCT I’s throughout the facility and provides quality care to patients on the PICU. This position will deal with the most acute and aggressive patients and will require more extensive training to handle the challenges presented to them within this unit. As an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, the HCT II practices therapeutic principles when providing care to the patients they serve. Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities

- Deals with the most acute and aggressive patients requiring more extensive training.
- Works as an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, practicing therapeutic principles.
- Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
- Listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Qualifications
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
Skills
