About the role

The Health Care Technician II serves as a role model and mentor to other HCT I’s throughout the facility and provides quality care to patients on 1 Oak. The Adolescent Unit is a co-ed, inpatient unit serving individuals from the ages of 12-17. The objective of the adolescent unit is to provide a safe and structured environment for crisis stabilization. As an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, the HCT II practices therapeutic principles when providing care to the patients they serve.

Responsibilities

• Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Works independently and as a team member.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
• Provides patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
• Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.

Requirements

• High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Listed as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.

Benefits

• Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting who apply between June 1st - August 31st, 2026, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
• CNA's (Nursing Department Only): Receive $4,000 in 1st paycheck, $5,000 after 12 consecutive months, and $6,000 after 18 consecutive months.

Pay

Recruitment Range: $31,235 - $46,852.

Schedule

• Shift Premiums: Day shift 5%, Evening shift 10%, Saturday and Sunday 15%, Night shift 15%.
