About the role
The Health Care Technician I will provide facilitative services and quality care for the welfare, safety, and security of individuals at Cherry Hospital. Work involves providing ongoing observation, interaction, and feedback to individuals under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Work also involves working with the interdisciplinary/treatment team and providing input on each individual’s care and condition.
Responsibilities

- Implement specific interventions identified in the individual’s comprehensive treatment plan.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences: Not required.
Preferred Skills: Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Basic knowledge of a variety of psychiatric, intellectual disabilities, medical and/or other related conditions. General knowledge of dietetics, sanitation, and personal hygiene.

Minimum Education and Experience: High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Benefits
Sign-on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting who applies between June 1st - August 31st, 2026, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
Pay
Recruitment Range: $31,200 - $44,261.
Schedule
- Day shift: Saturday and Sunday 5%
- Night shift: Friday-Sunday 15%, Monday-Thursday 10%
