About the role

The Health and Safety Assistant II position is available for a 3rd Shift team specializing in Manufacturing at the Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems Business Unit facility in Florence, KY.

Responsibilities

• Maintain local health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while managing records with confidentiality and data integrity.
• Drive safety awareness and culture by effectively communicating health and safety expectations, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and reinforcing a safety-first mindset.
• Support critical HSE reporting and metrics by collecting, validating, tracking, and reporting health and safety data through enterprise systems.
• Coordinate and enhance safety training programs by developing training content, scheduling, and assisting with training delivery, and maintaining accurate training records.
• Identify trends and opportunities for improvement by analyzing training, incident, and safety data, providing actionable reports, and helping the organization proactively address risks.
• Strengthen audit and inspection readiness by participating in health and safety inspections and audits, maintaining documentation, and supporting corrective actions.
• Promote employee health, safety, and wellness initiatives by coordinating programs and activities that encourage engagement, reduce workplace risks, and contribute to a healthier work environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence by performing quality checks, identifying non-conformances, raising potential issues early, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• A College, University, or equivalent degree in Industrial Safety or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office applications required.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with daily, weekly, monthly, and annual safety and environmental audits.
• Maintain workplace compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
• Preferred to have active CPR card and OSHA 30 card.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• A College, University, or equivalent degree in Industrial Safety or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office applications required.
