Safety Specialist 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

• Follow all 5S and safety policies, procedures, and work processes, ensuring tidiness and proper organization of materials.
• Maintain files and records properly, timely, and neatly to pass audits.
• Maintain eyewash stations: perform 12 flushes and clean basins.
• Stock first aid kits and blood kits (8 total), ensuring clean outer surfaces.
• Stock ear plug dispensers and safety glasses.
• Maintain fire extinguishers.
• Provide minor first aid as needed.
• Ensure a safety presence on the floor.
• Monitor severe weather conditions, including weather stations and radio, and unlock shelter doors when necessary.
• Conduct fire and severe weather drills on shift.
• Create and maintain a "Safety First" environment on shift.
• Ensure PPE compliance.
• Conduct incident investigations.
• Perform safety walk-throughs.
• Coordinate the safety shoes program by obtaining approved forms for employees.
• Coordinate the prescription safety glasses program by obtaining approved forms.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and assist the Safety Assistant Manager and Director with SDS visual aids (SAF.802).
• Perform audits of chemical labeling.
• Draft updates for safety documents.
• Maintain safety brochures and PowerPoint presentations.
• Complete miscellaneous safety projects and other assigned projects.
