Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach and Associate Director of Admission

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success coaching field hockey at the high school, collegiate, youth/club, or comparable competitive level.
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
• At least two years of professional experience as a college/university or independent school admission officer in a highly selective admissions environment or one-year of professional experience paired with a graduate degree in higher education or equivalent field.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as confidence and clarity in public speaking.
• Excellent reading comprehension skills to enable effective processing of a high volume of applications.
• Experienced and effective reading comprehension skills.
• Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related database and word processing applications.
• Exceptional planning, time management and organization skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Strong sense of judgment and discretion at all times.
• Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Connecticut Public Service License (PSL) to drive students.
• Ability and willingness to engage in significant out-of-town travel as well as evening and weekend commitments.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or ability to obtain certification upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct practices.
• Travel with students and coaches on game days.
• Collaborate with other coaches.
• Monitor the health and wellness of student-athletes.
• Promote the program.
• Work closely with our admissions team to recruit student-athletes.
• Collaborate with players, their families, and our college advising team to ensure successful college placement.

Benefits

This position will be part of a larger full-time administrative faculty role within our Admission Office as the Associate Director of Admission.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is part-time, with significant out-of-town travel and evening/weekend commitments.
