Varsity Head Coach, Field Hockey

About the Role
The Winsor School is seeking an experienced and dynamic Varsity Head Coach for Field Hockey for the Fall 2026 season. This is an opportunity for a seasoned coach to lead a competitive, well-supported program with committed club-level athletes, a talented roster, and a forward-looking athletic department.
About the Program
Winsor Field Hockey competes at a high level within the EIL and NEPSAC and has a history of developing athletes who go on to compete collegiately. The program benefits from strong institutional support, quality facilities, and an administration committed to helping coaches succeed.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the varsity program, including practice planning, game strategy, and season-long player development
- Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and Assistant Coach(es) to build a cohesive program across all levels
- Support student-athletes pursuing collegiate opportunities, including communication with college coaches as appropriate
- Uphold Winsor's standards for sportsmanship, safety, and athlete well-being
- Attend required coaches' meetings, trainings, and certifications
Requirements
- Significant experience coaching field hockey at the varsity, collegiate, or club level
- A track record of developing individual athletes while building team culture and cohesion
- Strong communication skills with players, families, and administration
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, the recruiting and college placement process
- A coaching philosophy grounded in both competitive excellence and the holistic development of student-athletes
Schedule
- Season: Practices begin Tuesday, September 1, and conclude November 21, 2026
- Practices: Monday through Friday, 3:30–5:30 PM
- Games: Scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays, with occasional Saturdays
