Field Engineer

About the role

ENTACT is a premier national provider of environmental, civil, and geotechnical construction services, directly self-performing environmental remediation and geotechnical construction work with in-house personnel and equipment. Established in 1991, ENTACT has been consistently named to ENR's "Top 200 Environmental Firms" and has successfully completed over 3,000 projects. We are seeking a Field Engineer in the environmental remediation and geotechnical construction industry. Candidates must be open to sustained project-based travel within the US (at least 80% of the time), can reside anywhere within the US, and will receive per diem/living allowance and paid monthly trips home.

Position Summary

The Field Engineer works closely with all members of the management and health and safety team. This position includes quality control, surveying, KPI tracking, and other responsibilities related to the proper and timely execution of ENTACT projects. Must be self-motivated to meet deadlines, communicate effectively in a teamwork setting, and adapt role/responsibilities in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• HAZWOPER 40 hr. training is highly preferred but not required
• Experience with Trimble Business Center or AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required

Physical Demands

Work Environment

• Performs essential job functions primarily in a construction/field setting and occasionally in a typical office environment
• Outside construction site, onsite office space
• Terrain is rugged and may be difficult to navigate

• Noisy work environments controlled to levels at or below exposure limits
• Contaminated atmosphere exposures (fumes, vapors, lead dust, H2S, etc.) controlled to levels at or below exposure limits

Personal Protective Equipment

Different types of PPE may be worn including, but not limited to: hard hat, hearing protection (ear plugs or muffs), eye protection (safety glasses, goggles, face shield, welder's helmet), safety vest, various gloves (leather, Nitrile, latex, etc.), steel toe boots, and various respiratory protection (dust masks, half face and full face respirators, SCBAs, APRs, etc.) may be required depending on site conditions. Respirator use may require that the user be clean shaven. Protective coveralls include cotton, Tyvek, fire retardant, chemical protective, etc.
