Emmanuel University, located in northeast Georgia, is seeking a full-time Head Tennis Coach to lead the Mens and Womens Tennis program. Summary: The selected candidate will help ensure the program operates and conducts itself within the ideals, goals, rules, and regulations set forth by Emmanuel University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Conference Carolinas. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics. The successful candidate provides leadership, organization, supervision, instruction, and strategic planning for the Lions Mens & Womens Tennis Program. Responsibilities Conduct programs in accordance with the NCAA regulations, Conference Carolinas guidelines, and within the philosophy of Emmanuel University.Knowledge and understanding of coaching, recruiting, and program administration.Provide a positive atmosphere that promotes a sense of fairness, organization, commitment, motivation, accomplishment, and fun.Accept responsibility for the behavior of the team during practices, contests, and any other team related activities.Effectively teach student-athletes the mission of the athletic department, the institution, and the purpose of service.Teach aspects of strength and conditioning.Teach aspects of nutrition.Foster an atmosphere promoting academic success and personal developmentMeet recruiting and retention goalsEstablish an effective communication plan with student-athletesPlan a competitive scheduleConduct practices in a safe environmentOrganize home eventsEffectively manage the budgetFundraise for additional program needsProvide safe and efficient travel to competitionsImplement an effective community service planMust be able to work evenings and weekends, with extensive travelPromote the tennis program in the communityOrder equipment to serve the needs of the programMaintain an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipmentOther responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics Minimum Qualifications Requirements include a bachelors degree, and previous collegiate tennis coaching or playing experience is preferred. Upon employment, the candidate must successfully complete the NCAA certification exam.
