Salary Range: $16.94 - $17.50 per hour
Commensurate with Experience

Job Description
EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to work in conjunction with classroom staff to teach preschool children in the Head Start program in Torrington, CT. The qualified candidate will be professional, organized, experienced working with preschool aged children, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Major Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teaching staff to plan and implement a wide variety of creative and developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 3 to 5 that promote school readiness through language, literacy, cognition, social studies, mathematics, science, the arts, social-emotional skills and physical development in a culturally and linguistically rich environment.
- Develop and maintain on-going relationships with parents as partners in their child's learning process.
- Participate in and maintain documentation of staff professional development activities including staff meetings, workshops, conferences, and in-service training.
- Adhere to the Closing Policy to insure the safe dismissal of all children, and the closing of the classroom.
- Provide a safe physical and social/emotional environment for the children while maintaining active supervision at all times.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with children, families, and co-workers
Qualifications/Requirements
- Associate's Degree (preferred) in Early Childhood or in a related field with 12 ECE credits and experience teaching preschool-aged children
- Or CDA with experience teaching preschool-aged children
- Will accept experience working in a preschool classroom with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and their families
Physical Requirements
- Position self to bend and lift up to 30lbs
- Arrange classroom furniture based on needs of children and curriculum
