EARLY HEAD START TEACHER

About the role

Early Head Start Teachers must be professionally prepared and qualified to work with very young children and their families in a culturally relevant manner. They must have knowledge of infant/toddler development and Head Start requirements. They must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for infants and toddlers
• Implement early childhood activities as directed
• Provide basic care such as naps, diaper changing and feeding

Qualifications

• A current child development association (CDA) credential or a willingness to get one is required
• Must have good communication skills to communicate with parents on a daily basis
• Must be able to keep all information strictly confidential
• Must have first aid and CPR certification
