Afternoon Teacher

About This Role

Soliciting a dedicated, nurturing, and energetic educator for a preschool and before/after school program at a small childcare center. Responsibilities include crafting, playing, and instructing engaging STEM projects for children aged 3-10.

What You'll Do

• Ensure the safety and health of each child
• Be warm and nurturing towards children
• Plan and execute fun, interactive activities for students
• Aid teachers in curriculum implementation and daily activity planning
• Establish a professional relationship with families, offering quality care and courteous service
• Model positive behavior for all staff and children
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure learning environment
• Support transitions throughout the day, including bathroom time, indoor/outdoor moves, assisting with changing clothes, etc.
• Learn and apply positive guidance and discipline techniques in line with school policies
• Perform assigned housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and organizing common areas

Requirements

• Ability to move with the children
• Experience engaging in daily activities
• Previous work experience with children
• Reliable transportation
• Passion for working with young children
• Effective teamwork skills
• Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and environments
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities
