Head of Trade Finance

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the long-term strategy for the trade finance business.
• Drive innovation in trade finance products and services.
• Align trade finance strategies with overall bank objectives and market opportunities.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for expanding the trade finance business globally.
• Lead strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions in the trade finance space.
• Drive revenue growth and profitability of the trade finance product line.
• Lead and mentor senior executives across the trade finance division.
• Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and client-centric service.
• Develop and implement strategies for attracting and retaining top talent.
• Serve as the senior relationship manager for strategic global clients and partners.
• Represent SVB as a thought leader at high-profile industry events and forums.
• Engage with regulators and industry bodies on trade finance matters.
• Establish risk management frameworks for trade finance.
• Ensure robust governance structures and compliance with international regulations.
• Lead high-level discussions with regulators and policymakers to shape industry standards.

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in banking and/or trade finance experience, with leadership responsibility in trade finance, structured trade, transaction banking, or a closely related business.
  • OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in banking and/or trade finance experience, with leadership responsibility in trade finance, structured trade, transaction banking, or a closely related business.
  • Preferred Experience: 15+ years of banking and/or trade finance experience, with leadership responsibility in trade finance, structured trade, transaction banking, or a closely related business.

  Pay

  Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
