About the role
The Head of Finance will lead the financial strategy and operations for Seaport District, Boston, MA. This role will oversee financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance, including experience in leading teams and managing complex financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the district's strategic goals.
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis team to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain financial systems and processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial objectives with overall organizational goals.
- Ensure effective communication of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading financial teams and managing complex financial systems.
- Experience in public sector or non-profit organizations preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices, including GAAP and IFRS.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in leading financial teams in a public sector or non-profit organization.
- Experience in implementing and managing financial systems and processes.
- Experience in public speaking and presenting financial reports to senior executives and boards of directors.
