Head of Talent
About the role
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a more strategic, ownership-driven role in recruiting while still being supported by a collaborative, thoughtful team. In this role, you will work directly with founders and leadership teams, helping them navigate important hiring decisions and build teams that move their business forward. You’ll lead searches end-to-end across technical, product, and go-to-market roles, while also contributing to the broader thinking around how teams are designed and built. You’ll have the chance to operate with a high level of ownership, similar to a fractional Head of Talent, while still being part of a boutique firm where you can collaborate, learn, and grow alongside others doing the same work.
What You Will Own
- Client Partnership
- Partner directly with founders and executives to align hiring with business goals
- Guide role scoping, prioritization, and hiring strategy
- Build trust as a true extension of the client’s team
- Full-Cycle Recruiting
- Lead end-to-end searches across engineering, product, GTM, and operations
- Drive sourcing strategy and candidate engagement
- Evaluate candidates with a focus on capability, startup fit, and long-term impact
- Close candidates and guide clients through decision-making
- Strategic Contribution
- Identify patterns and insights across searches to improve outcomes
- Contribute to refining Eleve Talent’s processes and delivery model
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership
What We Are Looking For
- Experience recruiting in startup or high-growth environments
- Strong client-facing skills and ability to build trust with founders
- Ownership mindset and comfort operating independently
- Ability to balance speed and quality in fast-moving environments
- Strong judgment in evaluating talent and navigating hiring trade-offs
Location
Priority markets include Missouri, South Carolina, and Kansas.
