About the role

The Kehillah School seeks a visionary and experienced Head of School to lead its mission of inspiring academic excellence, cultivating student voice, and fostering a sense of belonging. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of adolescent development, a commitment to inclusivity, and a passion for Jewish values and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the academic program, ensuring rigorous yet supportive learning environments across all departments.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Kehillah Capstone Pathway to enhance student engagement and personal growth.
  • Build and maintain a vibrant, inclusive community that supports all students and encourages their full participation and expression.
  • Engage in strategic planning and fundraising efforts to support the school's vision and financial sustainability.
  • Oversee the school's operations, including curriculum, extracurricular activities, and facilities management.
  • Represent the school externally, building relationships with alumni, parents, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in education, preferably in a high school setting.
  • A proven track record of leading successful schools or educational initiatives.
  • A deep understanding of adolescent development and effective teaching strategies.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to create an inclusive environment.
  • Experience with strategic planning, fundraising, and external relations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in education, school administration, or a related field.
  • A strong background in Jewish education and values.
  • Experience with Kehillah Advanced Topics (KAT) and the Kehillah Capstone Pathway.
  • Knowledge of the University of California admissions process and its requirements.

An anticipated salary range of $320,000 – $410,000, commensurate with experience.
