About the role
The Kehillah School seeks a visionary and experienced Head of School to lead its mission of inspiring academic excellence, cultivating student voice, and fostering a sense of belonging. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of adolescent development, a commitment to inclusivity, and a passion for Jewish values and culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the academic program, ensuring rigorous yet supportive learning environments across all departments.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Kehillah Capstone Pathway to enhance student engagement and personal growth.
- Build and maintain a vibrant, inclusive community that supports all students and encourages their full participation and expression.
- Engage in strategic planning and fundraising efforts to support the school's vision and financial sustainability.
- Oversee the school's operations, including curriculum, extracurricular activities, and facilities management.
- Represent the school externally, building relationships with alumni, parents, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in education, preferably in a high school setting.
- A proven track record of leading successful schools or educational initiatives.
- A deep understanding of adolescent development and effective teaching strategies.
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to create an inclusive environment.
- Experience with strategic planning, fundraising, and external relations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in education, school administration, or a related field.
- A strong background in Jewish education and values.
- Experience with Kehillah Advanced Topics (KAT) and the Kehillah Capstone Pathway.
- Knowledge of the University of California admissions process and its requirements.
