Head of Product, Discover
Role Overview
Nuix Discover is a dedicated eDiscovery and legal review platform with a distinct product identity, a separate engineering team based in Pittsburgh, and a clear mandate to double revenue over three years. The Head of Product, Discover is the product owner of the entire Discover platform - responsible for the roadmap, the product strategy, and the cross-functional delivery cadence.
This is a senior product leadership role reporting directly to the EVP, Discover Business Unit. The role operates with dedicated product accountability for the Discover platform, drawing on shared services from the broader Nuix Product & Technology organisation - including engineers and product managers who sit within those structures and are allocated to Discover work.
Day-to-day, you are the product owner and commercial product voice for Discover; you do not have direct line management of the engineers or PMs but are expected to lead through influence, prioritization authority, and close partnership with the CPTO's organization.
Location
The role reports to the EVP, Discover Business Unit and can be based in New York, NY, Washington, DC metro area or Pennsylvania. Candidates located near our Pittsburgh, PA or Reston, VA office will have a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Own the Discover product roadmap end-to-end: prioritize features and capabilities against market opportunity, customer feedback, and competitive positioning, with clear release cadence and measurable outcomes.
Serve as the primary product interface between the allocated Discover engineering and PM resources (shared services from the Product & Technology organisation) and the Discover commercial business - set priorities, maintain the backlog, and ensure delivery cadence aligns with commercial commitments, without direct line authority over those teams.
Drive a coherent product strategy for both the SaaS and on-premise variants of Discover, managing the tension between these two deployment models as the SaaS transition accelerates.
Define and maintain a clear competitive positioning framework against the major eDiscovery review platforms (Relativity, Reveal, CS Disco, Opus 2), identifying where Discover wins and where it needs to close gaps.
Own the voice-of-customer programme for Discover: establish structured feedback loops with law firms, corporate legal, and government users; run advisory councils and convert insight into product decisions.
Collaborate with the Head of AI within the Nuix product organisation to identify where AI-assisted review, classification, and analytics capabilities create meaningful differentiation for the Discover platform specifically.
Define and track product-level KPIs - platform adoption, feature utilisation, NPS, time-to-value for new deployments - and use these to inform roadmap trade-offs.
Operate as a key stakeholder in pricing and packaging decisions for Discover, working with commercial leadership to design product tiers, usage-based models, and upgrade paths that support ACV growth.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
15+ years in product management, with at least 3 years in a senior or group product management role responsible for a complex enterprise SaaS or software platform - you have owned a roadmap, managed a cross-functional squad, and shipped consequential product.
Deep domain knowledge of the eDiscovery market - you understand the review workflow, the key buyer personas (lawyers, litigation support, IT), and the competitive landscape well enough to walk into a law firm and hold a credible product conversation.
Demonstrated ability to manage a dual-mode product (SaaS and on-premise or hosted), including the sequencing and migration challenges that come with moving an existing installed base toward a cloud-first model.
Strong commercial instincts - experience working with sales, pricing, and commercial teams to structure packaging and features that drive ACV growth, not just feature completeness.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a shared-services or matrix model - you have owned product outcomes without owning the engineers or PMs, and you know how to maintain velocity, accountability, and quality in that structure.
Desired Expertise
Background as a lawyer, litigation support professional, or former user of eDiscovery platforms - genuine first-hand understanding of the review matter lifecycle is a meaningful differentiator in this role.
Experience integrating AI/ML-assisted review, predictive coding, or TAR (Technology Assisted Review) capabilities into a legal tech product.
