Head of Finance
About the role
The Head of Finance will oversee and maintain detailed financial models capturing Tremendous's complex revenue streams. They will work with the Finance and Data teams to document assumptions, outputs, and scenarios in a rigorous yet understandable manner. The role involves driving forecasting and planning, supporting deal desk activities, exploring and optimizing data, and creating compelling financial narratives for both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own FP&A: Oversee and maintain detailed financial models capturing complex revenue streams.
- Drive forecasting and planning: Keep financial forecasts updated, accurate, and defensible.
- Support deal desk: Structure and price complex enterprise deals, working cross-functionally with sales, legal, and product teams.
- Explore and optimize: Identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities within the data.
- Create the external story: Package business model and financials into clear, compelling narratives for external parties.
- Build the function: As the team grows, build out the finance team and establish best practices for financial operations.
Requirements
- 4+ years at growth-stage startups: Experience leading finance teams and owning FP&A models at fast-moving startups.
- Strategic finance perspective: Ability to think strategically and tell a compelling financial story.
- Modeling obsession: Enjoy building financial models and getting the details right.
- Deal structuring experience: Experience pricing and structuring complex enterprise deals, preferably in a B2B context.
- Transaction involvement: Hands-on involvement in startup transactions (investment or acquisition).
- Naturally curious: Ask "why" and "what if" constantly, enjoy complex problems, and dig into data to find answers.
- Low ego, high impact operator: Excited to do the work yourself rather than delegating everything.
