Head of Data Science - Fraud Insights

Responsibilities

• Own and design the research agenda focusing on applied econometrics in fraud detection
• Analyze complex identity graph to identify emerging fraud patterns and behavioral shifts
• Act as the liaison between external regulatory intelligence and internal research efforts
• Transform complex findings into influential narratives and actionable insights for diverse audiences
• Lead and mentor a team of researchers and data scientists, fostering a culture of rigor and storytelling
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate data-driven insights into strategic roadmaps
• Represent the company publicly by engaging with industry groups and authoring impactful market research

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in a quantitative field like Economics or Data Science
• 10+ years of experience in data science, fraud analytics, or quantitative economics with scalable impact
• Expertise in fraud detection, identity risk, or related fields necessary
• Strong background in causal inference and statistical modeling, with proficiency in modern ML/AI techniques
• Proven track record of external thought leadership through publications and presentations
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of creating rigorous research
• Experience managing and developing high-performing technical teams
