Data Scientist
About the role
As a Data Scientist at Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC), you will be working closely with our sister company, Syntasa, to leverage a multitude of big data, machine learning, and statistical methods to help our clients realize the potential of modern data science and data-driven approaches.
Responsibilities
- Build data pipelines needed for models
- Build and optimize models
- Enable data-driven outputs to be leveraged by stakeholders and downstream applications
- Work across multiple public sector and commercial clients to facilitate positive outcomes in various sectors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years’ experience in an analytical role as a data scientist, analyst, or machine learning engineer
- Ability to work with data using SQL and tools for statistical analysis (Python, R)
- Solid knowledge of statistics and probability, with experience applying these techniques to commercial use cases like ML models and A/B tests
- Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and maintaining ML models and data pipelines in a commercial setting
- Experience translating business/project requirements into insights, models, and data products that generate tangible business value
- Effective communication skills to present data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with engineering teams
- Curiosity and attention to detail regarding data quality, distributions, biases, and governance
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Interest in the latest trends and techniques in data, machine learning, and AI
- Fluent in Python/Scala/R, SQL, and NoSQL, with experience with Big Data tools like Apache Spark, EMR, Dataproc, Cloudera, and Hortonworks
- Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow, DBT, and NiFi
- Experience with large language models (LLMs) and GPT models
Qualifications
- Experience with cloud solution providers such as GCP, AWS, and Azure
- Prior experience building robust and reusable code
- Experience with NLP and image processing
- Experience with REST APIs
- Understanding of version control, modularity, and maintaining code in a production setting
- Understanding of the web analytics and digital marketing ecosystem (Adobe, Salesforce, Google)
- Prior experience with data management platforms (DMPs) and customer data platforms (CDPs)
- Consulting experience

Salary is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This role is a hybrid role, combining on-site work at Syntasa, customer sites, and remote work. The location options are Herndon, VA; St. Louis, MO; or Aurora, CO.
