Head of Brand - DTC Women’s Apparel
About the role
We are seeking a Director of Brand to help lead the next chapter of the brand’s growth with a clear identity, high standards, and a strong point of view. This is a leadership role for someone who understands how to nurture what already makes a brand special, while building the systems, team clarity, and cross-functional alignment that help it scale.
We are looking for someone with both taste and operating rigor: a brand leader with sharp judgment, low ego, strong follow-through, and the ability to build processes, manage people, and move with pace. The ideal candidate can internalize the brand deeply, apply it with consistency and discernment, and build the clarity and systems that allow the team to operate at a high level without constant founder input.
Responsibilities
- Steward the brand across channels and touchpoints
- Guide creative output across marketing with a strong brand point of view
- Partner with growth and performance marketing to ensure brand and performance work together
- Partner with product to help tell more of the brand’s story across the full breadth of the collection as it continues to evolve
- Own and evolve brand guidelines so they are clear and usable
- Lead go-to-market strategy and campaign direction across channels
- Manage and develop design, content, and social team members, plus freelance partners
- Build tools, systems, and decision-making frameworks that improve quality and reduce founder dependency
- Help shape resourcing, budget allocation, and brand input into product and marketing strategy
What Success Looks Like
- The brand shows up with more breadth consistently, with sound judgment, and stronger execution across the company
- Teams have more clarity on how to make brand decisions
- The founder is no longer pulled into guiding routine creative details because trust, standards, and team capability are firmly in place
Qualifications
- You’re a strong brand leader with both creative judgment and operational discipline
- You may come from a design-forward, brand-led company. More importantly, you know how to translate taste into systems, standards, feedback, and team performance
- You are self-directed, collaborative, steady under feedback, and able to do strong work without a large team or heavy structure
This Role Is Likely a Fit If You Are
- High taste, low ego
- Strong in both brand sensibility and execution
- Comfortable moving quickly and working with ambiguity
- A thoughtful manager of both in-person and remote teams
- Excited by stewardship, not reinvention
