Head Coach Men & Women's Tennis
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Commitment to the development and support of the student-athlete, passion for the game, and the ability to coach and motivate players and staff.
Establish rules for the team and oversee the supervision, instruction and development of student-athletes and the team; make strategic decisions in contest situations;
coordinate player evaluation and selection in conjunction with the assistant coach(es);
Promote individual growth in athletic skills, leadership development, mental preparation, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship;
Develop and implement an annual recruiting plan, associated strategy and maintain a database of prospective student-athletes in coordination with the office of enrollment management;
Develop and implement communications strategies that will assure the success of the program, i.e., clean and professionally drafted recruiting letters, professional home visit presentations, well-organized campus visit itineraries and direct communication (i.e. phone calls, video calls and direct messages).

Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field;
- 3 years of relevant experience;
- NCAA Coaches Certification, or ability to pass certification test;
- AED/CPR and First Aid Certification.
Job Level Overview
The Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach is responsible for directing all phases of the day-to-day operations of the RIT tennis programs. This is a 10-month position and includes the planning, development, and implementation of all program activities, including but not limited to recruitment, instruction, student-athlete development, and competitive coaching. The Head Coach's responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating team travel, leading fundraising initiatives and camps, and representing and promoting the tennis programs in alignment with RIT, Liberty League, and NCAA guidelines. The Head Coach must demonstrate a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athlete, community engagement, positive public relations, and effective fiscal management of the program. The Head Coach will effectively recruit highly qualified student-athlete through collaboration with the Office of Enrollment Management and the Intercollegiate Athletics leadership team. This role also requires fostering and maintaining positive relationships with student-athlete, parents and families, colleagues within and outside the university, alumni, and friends of both the program and the University.
