About the role

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Coordinator _ Hearing Officer is responsible for ensuring that housing choice voucher recipients receive appropriate assistance in applying for and maintaining their vouchers. This position also handles initial and renewal hearings for HCV recipients.

Responsibilities

• Assist applicants in understanding and completing the application process for housing choice vouchers.
• Conduct initial and renewal hearings for housing choice voucher recipients.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding housing choice vouchers.
• Provide guidance and support to housing choice voucher recipients on issues related to their vouchers.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of housing choice voucher recipients to ensure they are using their vouchers appropriately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social work, public policy, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in housing administration or related field.
• Experience conducting hearings and providing legal advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of housing choice voucher programs and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
