About the Project/Program

NYS e-MPIRE Tax Imaging System. The candidate will be a guide member of the imaging team responsible for developing shared services and development code generators used by all Department of Tax and Finance Applications, including maintaining and modernizing the e-MPIRE imaging platforms. This system processes programs that generate billions of dollars in revenue for local governments and New York State. Its solutions enable better decision-making, increased employee productivity, improved public access, and reduced risk from outdated technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with DTF modernization and explore alternative solutions for existing e-MPIRE imaging systems using technologies such as .NET, C#, application administration, AIX Shell Scripting on UNIX, and DB2.
• Support multi-tier architecture design and implementations.
• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle: requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, and production support.

Qualifications

Mandatory

• Systems Architect: Defines the architecture of computerized systems (software and hardware) to fulfill requirements, including system breakdown into components, component interactions, interfaces (especially with users), and technologies/resources used in design.
• Expert Level (84+ months): Candidate provides guidance to large teams and/or possesses extensive industry experience, considered at the top of their field.
• 84 months of experience supporting government organizations, including business domain knowledge, technical design, application development, maintenance, and end-user support of complete business-related processing systems.
• 84 months of experience with UNIX and AIX OS, including Shell Scripting, CRON TAB, and DB2 databases.
• 84 months of experience as a Server Administrator, including deployment, administration, and support of hosted applications.
• 48 months of experience with Visual Basic, .NET, and/or C# application development and support.
