Hazmat Retail Driver - CDL (B)
About the Role
The HazMat Retail Driver will operate class B trucks in a Less Than Truckload (LTL) capacity to pick up customer retail waste from retail stores, pharmacies, and/or industrial sites. The driver will sort customer waste, verify proper packaging, labeling, and marking, and ensure it is secured for transport to a temporary storage or treatment facility. This role involves providing excellent customer service through follow-up and ongoing communication while maintaining electronic logs and documentation of manifests and work orders.
Responsibilities
- Understand and utilize company technology, such as mobile applications and software to track waste collection, packaging, and disposal.
- Deliver a high level of customer service through clear communication and professionalism onsite.
- Maintain vehicle logs and documentation of manifests and work orders.
- Perform DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with company and DOT regulations.
- Understand DOT regulations as they pertain to hazardous waste collection, packaging, and transportation, including accurate placarding, load securement, HAZMAT load segregation, and labeling.
- Assist in maintaining good housekeeping at facilities and on grounds.
- Function as a technician on lab pack and field service projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A valid class B commercial driver’s license with an MVR that meets Company policy standards.
- Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Self-motivation to achieve daily workload targets.

Schedule
This role operates Monday through Friday with variable scheduling that may include 3-4 overnight shifts per week based on customer locations, routes, and delivery requirements. Drivers can expect most weekends and holidays off, with only occasional exceptions for critical business needs.
