HazMat Retail Driver - CDL (A)

Operate class A trucks in a Less Than Truckload (LTL) capacity to pick up customer retail waste from retail stores, pharmacies, and industrial sites. Sort customer waste, verify proper packaging, labeling, and marking, and secure it for transport to temporary storage or treatment facilities. Provide excellent customer service through follow-up and ongoing communication while maintaining electronic logs and documentation of manifests and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Understand and utilize company technology, such as mobile applications and software to track waste collection, packaging, and disposal.
• Deliver a high level of customer service through clear communication and professionalism onsite.
• Maintain vehicle log and documentation of manifests and work orders.
• Perform DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with company and DOT regulations.
• Understand DOT regulations as they pertain to hazardous waste collection, packaging, and transportation, including accurate placarding, load securement, HAZMAT load segregation, and labeling.
• Assist in maintaining good housekeeping at facility and on grounds.
• Function as technician on lab pack and field service projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A valid class A commercial driver’s license with an MVR that meets Company policy standards.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Self-motivated to achieve daily workload targets.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL Hazmat endorsement.

Schedule

Operates Monday through Friday with variable scheduling that may include 3-4 overnight shifts per week based on customer locations, routes, and delivery requirements. Most weekends and holidays off, with only occasional exceptions for critical business needs.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $24.45 to $33.60 per hour, reflecting the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
