HazMat Retail Driver - CDL (B)
About the role
The HazMat Retail Driver will operate class B trucks in a Less Than Truckload (LTL) capacity to pick up customer retail waste from various locations. Responsibilities include sorting waste, verifying packaging, securing loads, providing excellent customer service, and complying with DOT regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high level of customer service through clear communication and professionalism onsite.
- Maintain an electronic log and documentation of manifests and work orders.
- Perform DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with company and DOT regulations.
- Understand and adhere to DOT regulations regarding hazardous waste collection, packaging, and transportation.
- Assist in maintaining good housekeeping at facility and on grounds.
- Function as a technician on lab pack and field service projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A valid class B commercial driver’s license with an MVR meeting Company policy standards.
- Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials.
- Self-motivation to achieve daily workload targets.
- Preferred: CDL Hazmat endorsement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in hazardous waste collection and transportation is preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous materials handling.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Skills
- Proficient in using company technology for waste tracking and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness and stamina.

Schedule
Monday through Friday with variable scheduling that may include 3-4 overnight shifts per week based on customer locations, routes, and delivery requirements. Occasional weekends and holidays off with only occasional exceptions for critical business needs.
