About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant to join our team. This role involves providing expert guidance and strategic advice to municipal clients across a variety of sectors, including transportation, transit, aviation, economic development, capital projects, human resources, government management, strategic planning, urban planning, zoning, land development, community engagement, public involvement, and government/public relations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of the public sector landscape and a passion for helping communities thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage consulting engagements for municipal clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic plans, urban planning documents, zoning analyses, and land development strategies.
  • Design and facilitate community engagement and public involvement initiatives to gather stakeholder input and build consensus.
  • Provide expert analysis and recommendations on capital projects, economic development initiatives, and transportation/transit/aviation systems.
  • Conduct organizational assessments and provide human resources consulting to improve government management and efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategic communication and public relations plans to enhance client visibility and manage public perception.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports, presentations, and recommendations to client leadership and public bodies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client staff, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposal development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in management consulting, municipal government, or a directly related field.
  • Proven experience in at least three of the following specialty areas: transportation/transit/aviation, economic development, capital projects, HR consulting, strategic planning, urban planning, zoning/land development, or community engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and facilitate dialogue among varied stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
