Altamont - Hardware Sales & Service The Hardware Sales & Service Associate supports daily retail and warehouse operations while providing excellent customer service. This individual assists customers with product selection and purchases, helps maintain inventory, organizes orders and pickups, and ensures the store remains clean, organized, and well-stocked. A general knowledge of agriculture, livestock, and hardware products is beneficial in serving customer needs. Location 4 Do-It Dr, Altamont, IL 62411 Reports to Hardware Manager Salary $16-20/hour Key Responsibilities Follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures Help keep inventory of all small seed, fertilizer, feed and various hardware itemsHave a general knowledge of the Agriculture/Livestock Industry Ability to organize orders, coordinate pickup times, and drive a forklift as necessary Assist other employees in the restocking of feed, fertilizer, small seed, and various hardware itemsHave a basic understanding of hardware, and help with various daily task throughout the storeProvide the highest quality customer service Interact with employees and management in a professional manner Assist in checkout area: take payments, answer phone calls, and check customers outAssist customers with purchases to their vehicleLoading and unloading trucksKeep store, warehouse, and parking lot clean and free of clutter Required Knowledge, Skills, And Leadership Characteristics High School Diploma or GED. Associate in agriculture preferredDemonstrates the ability to interact effectively with management and customersHas a self-motivating personality as well as team-building skills Must possess excellent communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel Outlook and WordMust be 18 years of age or older Work Environment The nature of the job may require extended hours. While performing the duties of the job, the employee occasionally works outside. Physical Demands The physical demands include lifting objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and climbing stairs and ladders. Travel The employee may be required to travel to other locations, conferences, educational opportunities and other job-related activities.
