About the role

This position involves joining the Intel Government Technologies Customer Engineering team as a Hardware Platform Applications Engineer (PAE). The role focuses on supporting customer-developed systems, developing proof-of-concept systems, and collaborating with platform and chipset software architects.

Responsibilities

  • Directly engage with customers for support of customer-developed systems, including providing on-site power-on support.
  • Participate in defining and developing Proof-of-Concept systems and demos.
  • Replicate and debug customer-reported platform issues.
  • Create and present technical collateral to customers, ecosystem providers, and the sales channel.
  • Work with platform and chipset software architects to develop and finalize platform hardware requirements.
  • Attend new product and program meetings.
  • Review customer platform schematic and layout designs.
  • Support analysis teams in analyzing field quality return issues.
  • Operate laboratory measurement equipment during debug activities.
  • Build and flash software components and facilitate debug activities using Linux-based machines and tools.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of end-to-end platform hardware (board) design experience, covering circuit design, schematic capture, platform design guidelines, and bring-up/power-on debug.

Qualifications

  • Active US Government Security Clearance, with a minimum of Secret level preferred.
  • Post Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience building technical relationships with customers.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts and ideas with external military and aerospace customers.
  • Strong lab debug skills including the ability to use lab tools such as debuggers, protocol analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Experience performing signal integrity and/or power integrity simulations on customer designs.
  • Experience with Intel power delivery architecture and general SoC bring-up challenges.
  • Experience working with Government sponsor agencies and members of the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).

Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $122,440.00 - 232,190.00 USD. Intel offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and vacation plans.
