Qualifications
- Must have a 4-year degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Needs 4–10 years of experience working with embedded systems (small computer systems inside machines)
- Proficiency in hardware design and development tools, including VHDL or Verilog, RTL, FDGA, and ASIC development tools.
- Experience with hardware simulation and testing tools, such as ModelSim, QuestaSim, and testbenches.
- Knowledge of data paths, control logic, and interfaces, including Xilinx, SPI, and UART.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex hardware design issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Continuous learning mindset, with the ability to stay up-to-date with the latest hardware design trends and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement hardware designs for a variety of applications using VHDL or Verilog, RTL, FDGA, and ASIC development tools.
- Perform simulations and testing using ModelSim, QuestaSim, and testbenches to validate hardware designs.
- Create and optimize data paths and control logic to ensure the efficiency and reliability of hardware systems.
- Develop and manage interfaces using Xilinx, SPI, and UART.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware with software and firmware components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware design issues, implement corrective actions, and improve design methodologies to prevent recurrence.
- Document hardware design processes, specifications, and test results to maintain a comprehensive record of hardware development activities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest hardware design trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve hardware design processes and deliver high-quality products.
