About the role
A leading developer in the sensor solutions and industrial communication interfaces global automation market, Pepperl+Fuchs is looking for a hardworking, ambitious individual to fill an immediate need for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer at our Roseville, MN location.
Responsibilities
- Be a key team member in specifying, designing and developing exciting electronic hardware systems that run embedded OS and applications for standard and industrial Ethernet to process and transfer factory automation I/O data.
- Circuit design
- Develop hardware that are robust and EMC sound.
- Schematic capture, constraints development and programming.
- PCB Layout design constraints, guidance and review.
- Lead debugging and testing of prototype boards.
- Analyze and resolve issues found in design verification test (DVT), EMC and environmental testing.
- Research and create innovative product HW architecture with performance microcontroller, memory, interface IC.
- Lead Product feasibility studies including PCB component area placement and circuit implementation and routing studies.
- Collaborate with software engineering and industrial / manufacturing engineering and product management to develop hardware solutions.
- Create hw/sw interface and specifications documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience of embedded system design including circuit design and prototype bring-up and debugging.
- Experience with processor architecture, digital circuit design, and various communications protocols.
- Experience leading and driving design development from schematic capture, PCB layout through fabrication and assembly.
- Experience developing robust designs for EMC and industrial operating temperature range.
- Good understanding of manufacturing process including DFM.
- Ability to manage a complex set of objectives and team goals in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Proven experience in bringing up prototype board and debug/troubleshoot circuits and designs.
