About the role

The Hourly Wage ISS offers a competitive compensation package including Benefits, Paid Time Off, and a starting hourly salary of $26.30 per hour - $35.90 per hour. Work hours for this position may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Completes HS&E training as scheduled; Follows HS&E procedures; Demonstrates safe work practices; Exhibits HS&E best practice culture; Reports unacceptable HS&E conditions immediately
  • Performs general handyman tasks around the facility including door repairs, setups, light mechanical, light plumbing repairs, paint, patch, light bulb replacement, and other general laborer tasks as directed by the Manager
  • Solves client customer work order requests on computer-based work order system
  • Aids tradesmen with repair, adjustment and maintenance of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and associated equipment as directed by the Manager
  • Performs and documents maintenance and repairs in a timely and accurate manner
  • Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe workspace
  • Performs manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
  • Performs general building rounds and is responsible for reporting conditions observed

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, Must be 18 years of age
  • Business Experience: 0-1 years in Facility Maintenance or related field
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid state driver’s license with clean MV record (if operating moving vehicles)
  • Language and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English required; Works and participates well as a team member; Communicate well with others; clearly write and speak to clients, superiors, coworkers; Good organization skills; disciplined approach to daily activities; takes a sense of pride in all aspects of the job; Presents self in professional manner: neat appearance and grooming; Able to produce a quality work product in a prompt, safe and efficient manner; Ability to work without supervision and appropriately with multiple deadlines; Maintain a good attendance record, including notification in the event of tardiness and absence
  • Technical Qualifications & Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; Ability to calculate figures and amounts; Competencies: Computer Software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer – general experience; Communication skills; Competency with basic hand tools; Competency with basic power tools

Supervisory/Management Scope

The Handyman may not work independently and must work under the direction/oversight of local (Lead Building Engineer, Chief Engineer, or FM), Regional, or Country TS and Account Managers (dependent on space type, scope of work, and dispersion of ISS organizational managers). The Handyman does not supervise other ISS TS personnel or third-party vendors.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Handyman is regularly required to stand at eight-hour intervals with occasional scheduled breaks, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • The individual frequently is required to climb stairs and ladders.
  • The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, at higher than chest level and be able to tolerate adverse working conditions due to climate and tolerate extreme temperature changes.
