Habilitation Counselor

About the role

The role is available in Rutland, MA, and offers a starting hourly wage of $20.50, potentially increasing up to $23.87 based on qualifications and experience. The position comes with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and an additional $250 bonus for MAPS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and ensure the safety and security of all youth as assigned.
• Implement therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills.
• Complete required documentation, including progress notes and incident reports.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a related field is required.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders is preferred.
• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
• MUST be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment if going to a Group Home setting.

• Must be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Must be able to work closely with professionals in nursing, education, therapy, psychiatry, and other fields.
• Must have the ability to influence treatment plans and teach valuable life skills to at-risk youth.
