About the role
As a Department Manager, you’ll lead your team to create an inclusive culture that supports collaboration and entrepreneurship. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers, and colleagues, keeping up-to-date with the fashion scene and managing your department’s strengths and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Customer Sales & Profit
- Ensure the total OMNI customer experience in your store, maintaining visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
- Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
- Identify and act on commercial opportunities within your department.
- Create and analyze sales and budget goals, and implement plans to optimize results and profits.
- Manage customer service across all areas of the store and ensure your team is equipped to promote and sell products.
- Follow up on the use of the H&M Customer Loyalty App and in-store sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure cost-efficiency in your department.
- Handle administrative tasks such as transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Stay updated with the latest fashion trends, brands, and competitors.
- Provide product and fashion knowledge to customers during interactions.
- Team & Development
- Recruit, onboard, and develop your team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
- Share knowledge and skills with your team and collaborate with the Visual Merchandising team.
- Plan and schedule your team effectively and communicate regularly with store colleagues.
- Ensure adherence to procedures, routines, and legal requirements in all areas of the store.
- Participate in relevant training and development programs.
- Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
- Secure a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house areas, including stockrooms.
- Ensure high-quality, visually appealing product presentation and garment care.
- Manage stock levels and provide input on allocation to the area team.
- Follow internal and global standards for garment presentation and fitting room routines.
- Utilize in-store technology and tools like the Instore Care App, Click & Collect, and Smart Store.
- Update and maintain BOH areas, including key information, health and safety, and tidiness.
- Secure a balanced price perception throughout the store.

Pay
Expected base salary range is $21.39-$25.24 hourly.
