Guidewire PolicyCenter - Sr. Business Analyst

UFG is seeking a Senior Business Analyst specializing in Guidewire PolicyCenter to collaborate with team members in defining business needs, conducting research, gathering and documenting requirements, facilitating discussions, and leading continuous improvement of business processes and team outcomes. This role leverages experience to guide, mentor, and advise team members and stakeholders in a collaborative and evolving environment that values adaptability, partnerships, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Guide, mentor, and review the work of other analysts, both within and across teams, on best practices for business analysis and collaboration.
• Gather and document business needs through:
  • Interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, and task/workflow analysis.
  • Raising awareness of cross-team/functional dependencies and impacts.
  • Capturing current system capabilities (including Product Owner input where applicable).
• Define business needs within complex or ambiguous problem spaces to meet objectives and clarify initial scope of work.
• Summarize gathered information to ensure team members have a clear and aligned understanding of business needs.
• Lead research and analysis efforts to define and clarify business needs.
• Evaluate change requests to project scope based on perceived benefits and impact on project timelines; recommend only value-adding changes that align with project goals and communicate scope changes to stakeholders.
• Analyze business needs by:
  • Helping business units understand system capabilities and how they meet business needs.
  • Evaluating and reconciling information from multiple sources.
  • Driving alignment across stakeholders and facilitating resolution of conflicting or ambiguous needs.
  • Distinguishing user requests from underlying needs.
  • Translating technical information for non-technical audiences and vice versa.
  • Facilitating collaboration to establish technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance.
• Oversee and guide resolution of escalated issues, ensuring appropriate ownership and timely outcomes.
• Work with internal and external users to resolve non-code-related issues, escalating to appropriate departments as needed and maintaining records of issues and solutions.
• Assist with training documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with development teams to test and verify defect resolution.
• Perform Agile team duties as outlined in the team Working Agreement and evolving processes.
• Provide or facilitate system maintenance within established standards.
• Lead implementation of new business rules and regulatory requirements where applicable.
• Drive ongoing development and resolve requirement ambiguities.
• Direct timely implementation of changes in alignment with project timelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including:
  • Communication to a wide range of audiences.
  • Successful problem-solving.
• Employees are expected to participate in continuing education throughout their careers.

Working Conditions

• General office environment; remote location may be considered.
• Regular work duties may require work outside of regular business hours.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $113,000 annually. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, geography, and market data.
