Responsibilities

  • Maintains the daily functions of the department
  • Trains staff on departmental competencies through direct observation and training material
  • Facilitates special projects that address the needs of patients, families, and visitors across the organization
  • Ensures that any patient and family satisfaction issues and concerns are handled appropriately and timely
  • Provides Hospitality Services and Greeter Services
  • Ensures that issues and concerns raised by patients and their families are reported to leadership effectively and expediently
  • Works with leadership to communicate and resolve issues and concerns identified by staff members, volunteers, or family members
  • Adapts to changes in hospital information, policies, and environment
  • Facilitates information between Guest Services (GS) team and the Patient Support Services leadership team
  • Anticipates departmental needs through daily work activities or projects
  • Supports manager with tracking and monitoring tasks and compiling documentation completed by GS staff
  • Leads administrative tasks including preparing presentations, compiling departmental data reports, and overseeing inventory levels
  • Provides added leadership layer to support staff morale and recognition
  • Provides input in developing strategies and methods to optimize and enhance Guest Services Representative (GSR) performance
  • Expedites customer service issues and addresses staffing needs
  • Partners with other teams to accomplish patient/family-facing initiatives

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting
  • 2 years of experience in translation preferred
