Guest Services Event Staff | Part-Time | Owensboro Convention Center

About the Venue

The Owensboro Convention Center is a full-service facility overlooking the scenic Ohio River in downtown Owensboro, Kentucky. It features a 44,000+ sq. ft. exhibition hall, an 8,900+ sq. ft. outdoor pier over the river, and additional meeting and prefunction spaces. The Sportscenter, a historic 5,000-seat arena, hosts concerts, sporting events, and various gatherings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare your assigned section for guests, including wiping down seats and reporting issues to a supervisor.
• Welcome guests at the gates with a smile and a helpful attitude.
• Scan event tickets to ensure proper usage and guide guests to their seats.
• Aware of potential hazards and report them to a supervisor.
• Maintain your assigned area, addressing issues and creating memorable experiences.
• Respond promptly to guest concerns and complaints.
• Assist guests in ADA-accessible seating sections.
• Enforce building policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Manage foot traffic flow during large crowds.
• Verify guests' age for alcohol purchases.
• Be familiar with the arena's emergency evacuation plan.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospitality or entertainment environment is preferred.
• Loves working with and helping people.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Positive attitude in handling difficult situations.
• Flexible schedule: availability for most home basketball games and weekends.

Pay & Schedule

This role pays an hourly rate of $13.00. Availability for most home basketball games and weekends is required.
