Guest Services Assistant

About the role

The applicant may be hired for regular part time or seasonal part-time positions, with the busy season running from April to September.

Responsibilities

• Acts as host to the public, communicating effectively for marketing, public relations, and visitor services purposes.
• Assists with customer service, including handling sensitive issues and complaints.
• Accurately performs money exchange, counting, using credit cards, and accounting procedures; maintains general budget processes.
• Has thorough working knowledge of LCRA’s online campground reservation and point of sale system.
• Has knowledge of policies and procedures of the Casitas Municipal Water District and LCRA.
• Assists in compiling, computing, and producing complex data accurately and efficiently; composes clear and concise correspondence.
• Assists with maintaining the filing system.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.
• Assists with responding to emergencies as directed.
• May drive District vehicles as required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of proper work safety standards.
• Working knowledge of office equipment, computer technology, e-mail, and the LCRA campground reservation and point of sale system.
• Ability to learn rules, regulations, and policies governing the use of LCRA facilities.
• Type at no less than 35 wpm.
• Ability to accomplish administrative assignments with minimal supervision, follow and complete work schedules and assignments.
• Ability to follow and communicate oral and written instructions; communicate tactfully with the public, other companies, agencies, CMWD management, and co-workers; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; analyze situations effectively and take appropriate actions.
• Typical physical activities include using office equipment, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching, lifting up to twenty-five pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting for extended periods, standing, and walking for extended periods, walking on uneven terrain in an outdoor environment exposed to Southern California’s flora and fauna and significant temperature changes between cold and heat.

• Must be neat and courteous.

Benefits

This position is part-time and does not include benefits. Applicants must commit to working through the season that begins Memorial Day weekend and ends after Labor Day weekend.
